Asryan

Levon Asryan received his M.S. degree from the Yerevan State University, Armenia, and Ph.D. and Doctor of Sciences degrees from the Ioffe Institute of Physics and Technology, Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Dr. Asryan is an Associate Professor with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Before joining Virginia Tech, he was with the Ioffe Institute of Physics and Technology, Saint Petersburg, Russia, and State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA. His research interests include the physics of semiconductors, nano- and optoelectronics, photonics, and theory of semiconductor lasers with a low-dimensional active region.

Dr. Asryan wasawarded the Highest Prize of the Russian Federation (State Prize) in Science and Technology for the year 2001 for his contributions to “fundamental investigations of heterostructures with quantum dots and development of quantum dot lasers”.
